Multiple Etsy Shops

There are several reasons why someone would want to open multiple Etsy shops. For me, I currently have my planner shop, Interrobang Designs, and I will be opening a couple more. I'll give more information on that soon. :)

I've actually had a couple different Etsy shops in the past and there are certain things that are helpful when it comes to different shops.

It's a good idea to check what Etsy has to say on the matter. Click here for some information from Etsy itself. Here are a few things that they mention:
  • Multiple Etsy shops require different logins and emails
  • All of your usernames are to be disclosed in the public profile of each shop
  • You cannot list the same/similar items in the multiple shops.
Those are just a few things they mention.

Other than the policies that Etsy has set in place, there are a few other things that I would like to point out.

The first one: Accounting. I am a huge fan of the Quickbooks Self-Employed software. It's nice that Etsy transactions can sync with the software. You can also have multiple Etsy shops under one account. It doesn't necessarily separate they incomes, but I found that with specific reports, you can easily see what your numbers are for each shop.

I've done a lot of research and testing on multiple accounting software, but I found that Quickbooks Self-Employed is my favorite. I'm happy to spend a little extra for the ease of use and comfort of knowing that it can easily transferred into TurboTax, which I use each year for my taxes.

Use GSuite to maintain all of your Etsy emails. I purchased my domain through Google and decided set up an email address for it. With G Suite, you can pay for one email address, but have multiple aliases set up. These will redirect to your main email. I just set up some filters and labels so that each email coming in will be properly recognized. Now, I can have all of my Etsy shop emails in one email account. It's totally worth it!

Don't forget your logo and branding. While they can't be the same, you can definitely create a familiar look so that your customers will associate one with the other. If you're looking to make your Etsy shops completely different, you may not want to do this, but it's something to think about.

These are just a few things that you will want to think about as you open up multiple Etsy shops. Sure, you'll probably be starting out with one, but that can change as your shop evolves.

Good luck Etsy sellers! If you have an Etsy shop, or multiple ones, please leave a link in the comments below! I would love to check out your shops!
